An Historic Walking Tour provides a step back in time as you view the many architectural marvels built along the tree-lined streets of the community. Many are constructed of VanderHayden Brick produced in Ionia in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s. The VanderHayden home is located on West Main Street and is a true Italianate style. Pink sandstone can still be found in local quarries. This beautiful colored stone adorns many of the downtown businesses, homes, and even grand mausoleums located in local cemeteries.
