One of several entertainment hubs of the downtown area is the stately Ionia Theatre. Two screens and ample seating provide first run movies in addition to concerts, live state shows, community theatre events and more.
Originally built in 1931 for Vaudeville performers, the historic theatre has shown movies to fans since the Great Depression. After having been closed for many years, local residents formed a committee, bought and restored the building (it is now owned by the City of Ionia) and saved it from the wrecking ball! Come enjoy your movie in modern comfort and in old-fashioned style.
For information on what is showing, see the Theatre’s website.
