Since 1857, the Ionia Free Fair has been an important part of the state’s history and once ranked as one of the top 50 fairs in the nation. Today it continues to be one of the premier events of the summer in Michigan. Through the years the historic grandstand has been visited by Gabby Hayes, Les Paul, Buster Keaton, Sonny and Cher, Reba McEntire, Tim McGraw, Willie Nelson, and other legendary entertainers.
Open, 4-H and FFA competitors proudly showcase champion livestock and still projects throughout the Agri – Science Division. This celebrated area of the fair is a favorite for fairgoers of all ages. Due to the popularity of the fair, this ten day event boosts posted attendance at 400,000+ guests.
